El Salvador Returns Stronger Than Ever to FITUR
SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- For the eleventh year in a row, El Salvador will be attending FITUR, one of the two largest and most important tourism tradeshows in the world. This year''s fair will be held in its traditional location of Madrid, Spain, from January 30 to February 3.
According to Minister of Tourism Ruben Rochi, FITUR "is the most important tradeshow in Europe for Central America, due to its position as the second- largest world market, and we are looking to increase the number of visitors coming from that region. We have a good delegation of businessmen joining us on this trip," he added.
One of El Salvador''s main strengths is its growing number of visitors, which allows the country to guarantee its burgeoning position as a world-class tourist destination. Attracting the European market is the second goal under the country''s 2014 National Tourism Plan (PNT).
"We are a country without complexes, because we are a leading player and have a lot to offer," said Minister Rochi, who added the following advantages to the list of the country''s pluses: The flights Italian airline Livingston Air will be offering on a permanent basis between Italy and El Salvador, and the travel recommendation the country received from National Geographic Adventure magazine for one of the 25 best adventure travel packages in the world.

Claudia Argumedo, CORSATUR''s tradeshow coordinator, said the country''s booth will include five plasma screens that will project images of El Salvador''s tourist locations, such as its volcanoes, archeological sites, sunny beaches, colonial towns, convention centers, shops and more.
There will also be a conference room featuring lightboxes with still images of the country''s sights, pupusa (a traditional Salvadorian dish), national beer and beverage tastings and an artisan from the town of La Palma, Chalatenango, who will demonstrate the typical painting style of the country''s arts and crafts.
El Salvador will share the same booth with its sister Central American countries, all of them under the banner of CATA, the Central American Office for the Promotion of Tourism, which is based in Madrid and serves the European and Asian markets.
